Momyungjae is a traditional Korean house, known for its historical and architectural significance.
Built in the late 19th century, it reflects the classic style, of Hanok, featuring elegant wooden structures and a tiled roof.
The house served as a residence for scholars and retains many cultural artifacts, offering visitors a glimpse into Korea’s past.

You can book a tea ceremony or a Hanbok experience at Momyungjae if you are interested.

Yeongnam Jeil Gwan (영남제일관) is the grand south gate of the former Daegu Eupseong Fortress.

Daegu Hyanggyo (대구향교)
Daegu Hyanggyo (대구향교) is a historic state-sponsored Confucian academy. Originally established in 1398, it still operates and serves as a cultural education, and views of classical Joseon Dynasty architecture.

This is my favorite picture as it shows traditional Joseon architecture in the front and in the back the new high risers where people nowadays live.
What type of living would you prefer? 🤔🤔
A stroll through Dongseong-ro. Dongseong-ro is the vibrant, beating heart of Daegu, a bustling shopping and entertainment district. Our Hotel – Hotel February Dongseong-ro was conveniently located right in the center.

We had a great night out at a local Makgeolli Restaurant/ Bar.

The restaurant is in a beautiful Hanok style. You’ll have to take your shoes off before you enter.

Traditionally Makgeolli is paired with Jeons. Jeons are various savory pancakes. Like green onion, kimchi, squash, Lotus roots or even meat pancakes.

Would definitely recommend Eubnae 읍내 restaurant/ Makgeolli bar to everyone who enjoys and loves Makgeolli.
If you have been to Korea before and you’ve done all the hot spots like Seoul, Busan, Jeju, Gyeongju… and you want to explore the real Korea, away from the beaten track, Daegu is really worth a visit. It’s more peaceful and more slowed down than the big cities yet still offers lots to do and see and shopping is cheaper than in Seoul. 😁
