Thai people are very superstitious. They believe in ghosts and spirits. That’s why spirit houses can be found outside almost every home and place of work in Thailand. Normally they look like a replica of a small house or temple. The bigger the house, the bigger the sprit house. The purpose of the spirit house is to give shelter to spirits and protect the house. Residents of the house bring daily offerings like rice, coconut or colourful drinks.

Der Zweck der Geisterhäuser ist es den Geistern und Seelen Unterkunft zu gewähren und das Haus zu beschützen. Die Hausbewohner bringen täglich Opfergaben wie Reis, Kokosnuss oder bunte Getränke.
