Plan was to do 2 more palaces in Seoul on Monday, but they are closed on Monday. 😂 so we came up with a back up plan and visited Jongmyo Shrine. Another UNESCO world heritage site. Jongmyo shrine is a place where the ancestral tablets with the spirits of the former kings and queens of Joseon Dynasty are enshrined. No body’s, they believe in a separation of the body and the spirit. The body goes back to earth, and is buried separately at the tombs. The spirit goes to heaven and therefore needs a shrine to lead the way and perform sacrificial rites by the king for the spirits.
Unfortunately the Mail Hall is under renovation since 2020, but you were not allowed in the Shrines anyway.
Unser Plan war eigentlich am Montag 2 weitere Paläste zu besuchen, aber die sind Montags geschlossen. Also haben wir Plan B verfolgt und stattdessen den Jongmyo Schrein besucht. Wieder UNESCO Weltkulturerbe. Der Jongmyo Schrein ist der Ort an dem die Ahnentafeln der früheren Könige und Königinnen der Joseon Dynastie aufbewahrt werden. Keine Körper, denn man glaubt a die Trennung von Körper und Seele. Die Körper gehen zurück zur Erde und sind in Grabstätten begraben. Die Seelen gehen in den Himmel und dafür werden die Schreine benötigt. Um den Seelen den Weg zu weisen und als Ort für spirituelle Riten durch den König für die Seelen.
Leider ist der Hauptschrein seit 2020 in Renovierung, aber man hätte sowieso nicht hineingehen dürfen.
Jeongjeon, the main hall, attained its present scale with 19 spirit chambers housing 49 spirit tablets. 19 doors with 19 spirits of the kings and their 30 queens.
Jeongjeon, der Hauptschrein, beherbergt 19 Seelenkammern für 49 Seelen. 19 Türen für 19 Seelen von Königen und deren 30 Königinnen.
In the smaller hall Yeongnyeongjeon or the Hall of Eternal Peace are the sprits of 16 kings and 18 queens. therefore only 16 doors on the front.
In dem kleineren Schrei n Yeongnyeongjeon, oder Halle des unendlichen Friedens, sind die Seelen von 16 Königen und 18 Königinnen. Deshalb hat er nur 16 Türen.
Don’t walk on the pathway! It’s for the spirits. Middle for the king, east for the crown prince and west for the queen.
Man darf hier nicht auf dem Weg laufen, dieser ist für die Seelen. In der Mitte der König, der Kronprinz im Osten und die Königin im Westen.

Der Hauptschrein, dort wurden spirituelle Seiten durch die Royale Familie durchgeführt. Wenn es nur einen Weg gibt, so ist dieser fürchten König. Keinen anderen Personen ist erlaubt den Ort zu betreten.
