Hue Imperial city and Citadel

UNESCO world heritage- Hue Imperial City. Hue was the former capital city of Vietnam during Nguyen Dynasty. Imperial City mostly served a ceremonial function. The citadel enclosed in the imperial city was only for the emperor. As the rest of the city was for the royal family and Mandarins. After the end of the monarchy in 1945 and during the Indochina war it was heavily damaged. Still quite impressive. But with 42 degrees way too hot so we’ll be spending the afternoon by the pool. 🥵

UNESCO Weltkulturerbe- Hue Imperial City. Während der Nguyễn Dynastie war Hue die Hauptstadt von Vietnam. Imperial City diente fast nur zeremoniellen Zwecken. Dennoch ist die Zitadelle innerhalb der Stadt nur dem Emperor vorbehalten gewesen, der Rest der Stadt war für die Royale Familie und die Mandarins. Nach dem Ende der Monarchie in 1945 und dem Indochina Krieg wurde die Imperiale Stadt leider schwer beschädigt. Trotzdem sehr bewundernswert. Aber mit 42 Grad zu warm, deshalb verbringen wir den Nachmittag am Pool. 🥵
